The studies made recently are characterized by an increasing complexity which is now possible thanks to the optical softwares CODE V® and LightTools®, associated to MATLAB® and Excel®.

Using routinely the controller-server mode of operation which is now possible with the Active X Automation of Windows and the recent versions of CODE V® and LightTools® prompts to develop new macro's for Matlab®, Excel® VBA, LightTools® and CODE V®.
These macros can be specific to the studies, or of more general use. This is more easy if
these softwares are used every days, thanks to the number and the variety of the problems to solve.

The adopted concept of virtual prototype is better and better used by the companies which
often prefer, for reasons of cost and efficiency, to call upon an external service to carry out this prototyping with the full knowledge of the adapted tools. Sometimes it continues with the development of a new material in integrated team, which results in dealing with the totality of the project in close connection with the workshop of the company, up to the writings of associated documentation.

Complex optronic system.......>>


Together and in integration with a design team of a big French company, this several month study consisted in making the predimensionning of the opto-mechanical architecture, then it's detailed study based on the specifications of the customer.
Together with optical simulations, the work done went up to the writing of technical documentations in accordance with the customer formalism.

Optical design for photolithography.......>>

Medical endoscopy.......>>


In the last years, our activity in the field of optical photolithography led us to acquire an in
depth experience in this field, thanks to a continuous cooperation with a big European company.
The studies made recently are related to immersion system at 193 nm.
A cooperation with a company involved in endoscopy for medical applications has been conducted to assist the company to acquire and develop the optics they needed for their applications.
The technical challenges are related to the use of a new CCD of 1/6 Inches and of a fiber-optic illumination system.
Also, relationships have been established with manufacturers of such optics, with a continuous technical assistance during all the phases of conception and prototyping.

Infrared detectors.......>>


The goal of this study which has been conducted in cooperation with a French company is to
take into account the optical system to conceive and dimension new generations of staring
arrays for IR applications.

Videoprojection.......>>


A videoprojector includes an illumination system, an optical relay lens a digital micro-mirror (DMD) and a screen. This study has been to optimize a new videoprojector, especially the lens, which will be fabricated in Asia.
Specification of the roughness of the mirrors using ISO10110-7 has been done and simulations with LightTools.

 

Cameraphone.......>>

Light guide .......>>


A cameraphone consist in the combination of a phone and a camera. In cooperation with a
French company specialized in image processing, several optical system have been studied in order to have the best compromise between the CCD arrays, the optics and the image processing.
Also taken into account is the manufacturing of the optics in Asia.

For a mouse like application, this study has been conducted to optimize the combination of a light guide and a three color LED to give more information to users.
