The studies made recently are characterized by an increasing complexity which is now possible thanks to the optical softwares CODE V® and LightTools®, associated to MATLAB® and Excel®. Using routinely the controller-server mode of operation which is now possible with the Active X Automation of Windows and the recent versions of CODE V® and LightTools® prompts to develop new macro's for Matlab®, Excel® VBA, LightTools® and CODE V®. The adopted concept of virtual prototype is better and better used by the companies which The examples hereafter illustrate some recent studies : Complex optronic system. Together and in integration with a design team of a big French company, this several month study consisted in making the predimensionning of the opto-mechanical architecture, then it's detailed study based on the specifications of the customer. A cooperation with a company involved in endoscopy for medical applications has been conducted to assist the company to acquire and develop the optics they needed for their applications.
The technical challenges are related to the use of a new CCD of 1/6 Inches and of a fiber-optic illumination system. Also, relationships have been established with manufacturers of such optics, with a continuous technical assistance during all the phases of conception and prototyping. Infrared detectors. The goal of this study which has been conducted in cooperation with a French company is to take into account the optical system to conceive and dimension new generations of staring arrays for IR applications.
